Linda Wynn, M.S., President/CEO
Linda Wynn graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science. She
began her career as a teacher and taught for more than 18 years. She
earned her Masters of Science from Herbert Lehman College while she was
teaching Special Education in the Borough of the Bronx.
In 1998, Linda and her husband, David,
decided to adopt a child from Guatemala. After a long and arduous journey
of 20 long months, losing two children in the process, and continuing to long for a child in their lives, they
brought their first daughter, Julia, home. The 20 months of this journey
transformed Linda’s life and she decided to give up her teaching career and
open an adoption agency. The agency they launched and operated had both a Domestic Program and International Programs in Guatemala, Ukraine and Uganda.
This became her passion and she was
spiritually directed to do more. Linda and David ran the agency for many
years. When The Hague Inter-county Adoption Treaty was enforced here in
the US, the US closed adoptions with Guatemala since they were not Hague Accredited or compliant with the Hague Inter-country Adoption Treaty. Guatemala was a very large program for the agency. The agency
was unable to survive without it, so they decided to close the
agency. This was a very difficult decision for both Linda and David but
Linda was affected the most.
During the time before they closed the
agency and the inception of The Hague Inter-country Adoption Treaty here in the US, Linda and
David adopted their second daughter, Emily. Emily came home in November,
2006. She was 8 months old.
Since Linda was passionate about
creating families and adoption was no longer an option for her, she researched
creating families through surrogacy. The more she learned, the more
excited she became with helping grow families through surrogacy. With soul
searching and hard work, Linda decided to pursue opening a surrogacy
agency.
That brings us to today. She’s opened Creating an Angel and loves
working with families, bringing their dreams to fruition and empowering their
lives with a child!
